Load Pin Shackles for Aquaculture Applications

Shackles play a vital role in aquaculture, where they are used in load monitoring on the vessel, and to measure the weight of cages in demanding marine environments. From the deployment of anchor weights, providing initial load and depth data, to the recurring crane loading data captured from service vessels, there are multiple applications where accurate measurement is essential.

Our pewag load pin shackle is a wireless load shackle designed specifically for such demanding, precision-critical aquaculture jobs. The load pin is manufactured from AISI 630 – 1.4542 stainless steel and is designed to fit perfectly into shackle bows. The centralized bobbin improves accuracy and provides a continuous load record from this shackle load cell, transmitted wirelessly from the rain-proof housing to your device for both single and cumulative load values.

The P210 bow shackle with screw pin combines a hot-dip galvanized bow and screw pin with a 6:1 safety factor for quick, secure connections during cage assembly and maintenance, while the P215 bow shackle with bolt, nut and cotter pin adds a hot-dip galvanized bolt and nut, also to a 6:1 safety factor, for connections that need to stay locked down long-term — anchor chains, mooring lines and buoy attachments included.
