pewag fishing chains have the mechanical values of G80 and G95. Made with a special alloy steel, they are treated to minimize the risk of hydrogen embrittlement and are specially designed for fishing trawlers, but unsuitable for lifting applications. G80 marine chains are also suitable for container lashing.

100% proof loaded, with every single link tested, and suitable for operating temperatures from -40 °C to +200 °C. The G80 and G95 mid link fishing chains are easy to assemble using connecting links or shackles, with a pitch designed to accommodate quick links and other fittings between adjacent chain-links. G80 and G95 long link fishing chains combine the same mechanical values with lighter weight and longer links for practical handling on deck.

The standard chain is self-coloured, with COROLIM coating or a purple water-based spray colour also available. A full operating manual is provided to you also.

G95 Profile Chains

Designed specifically for demanding trawl applications, pewag G95 profile chains withstand the challenge of extreme environments and deliver superior durability and consistent performance at sea.

The profile design increases the contact surface between links, enabling a more even distribution of forces across the chain. By reducing contact pressure and localized surface stress, concentrated wear is minimized, limiting the formation of surface damage that could act as a corrosion initiation point in aggressive marine environments.

Unlike conventional round link fishing chain, which experiences rapid initial wear from point-to-point contact, the profile chain ensures smoother load transfer, greater dimensional stability, reduced maintenance and gear adjustment, and enhanced operational reliability in harsh conditions. Manufactured from high wear-resistant steel and engineered for professional fishing trawlers, this G95 profile chain delivers long-term performance where durability matters most.

Tuna Chains and Tickler Chains

Specially designed for purse seiners, pewag G70 tuna chains and assemblies have the mechanical values of G70. Made with a special alloy steel, sandblasted and treated to minimize the risk of hydrogen embrittlement, this tuna chain is built for tuna net makers and is not suitable for lifting applications. Its weight allows quick, secure vertical tensioning of the net.

“No Peeling” Hot Dip Galvanization: the zinc coating is performed according to ISO 1461 with an average of 120/140 µm zinc protection, metallurgically bonded with the chain base steel to prevent later chipping of the coating. This allows for trouble-free handling while retrieving the net and an extended life without rusting. 100% proof-loaded up to 62.5% of its breaking force, with every link single tested.

For bottom trawlers, pewag tickler chains are hardened for a tough job. Designed with a longer pitch for a better mesh design, this self-coloured tickler chain has an indicative breaking force similar to G80 and a surface hardening of HV>470, helping it last much longer while sweeping the seabed for scallop or other fish. Both the tuna chain and tickler chain ranges are unsuitable for lifting applications.

Fishing & Marine Shackles

Shackles play a vital role in commercial fishing, where they are used to connect, secure and carry heavy loads in demanding marine environments.

The pewag range includes the P213 Fishing Bow shackle with screw pin and the P223 Fishing Dee shackle with screw pin, plus the Grade 6 P210 bow shackle with screw pin, featuring a hot-dip galvanized bow and screw pin with a 6:1 safety factor, and the Grade 6 P215 bow shackle with bolt, nut and cotter pin, featuring a hot-dip galvanized bow, bolt and nut with the same 6:1 safety factor.

These marine and fishing shackles are widely used for connecting trawl nets, attaching mooring lines, anchor chains and buoys, hoisting nets, catches or heavy equipment with cranes, and securing buoys, floats or markers to fishing gear or mooring systems.

Fishing Slings

Round slings and webbing slings are used to lift nets, catches and other fishing equipment. Their lightweight design and soft materials protect loads from damage. With capacities from 1 to 10 tonnes, round slings handle everything from securing mooring frames to handling lift trawl nets — all with fewer handling issues and greater flexibility.

Round slings provide flexible lifting for demanding handling tasks. Webbing slings are lightweight and easy to handle, wrapping securely around awkward or irregular loads without scratching paintwork or damaging delicate surfaces, with optional sleeves for added protection.

Custom options include custom lengths, custom labels and company branding, integrated hardware, single or double wear sleeves, and standard or tough outer sleeves.

Commercial Fishing Master Links, Rings and Connecting Links

G80 master links are ideal for tough jobs in fishing, with unmatched mechanical properties and a flat section designed for versatility with other components. G80 wide body master links have larger internal dimensions, suitable for larger crane hooks, special hooks and wire rope thimbles. Our AWI stainless steel master link in G60, made from AISI 318 LN DUPLEX alloy steel, is the right master link for gear coming into contact with your catch, complying with food safety HACCP norms.

The G80 fishing connecting link consists of two symmetrical, die-formed halves with smooth body profiles that avoid fouling in nets and gear — an all-rounder connector between master links and chain, hooks and chain, and more. The CWI Connex connecting link stainless steel G60 is drop-forged for the universal assembly of chain slings, master links, shorteners and shackles. Circular stainless steel fishing rings (AISI 316L) complete the range, made to last and perform underwater, even when choking a net section.

Rigging Hooks for Commercial Fishing Chains

The pewag hook range includes the G80 eye self locking hook, G80 swivel self locking hook and G80 eye sling hook with forged safety latch.

Self locking hooks close and lock automatically, so they cannot open when under load, and come with a wide jaw opening for quick operations on deck. The eye self locking hook is perfect in combination with the Connex system and offers additional connection options thanks to the flattened section on the eye, while the swivel self locking hook’s large swivel housing lets you find the right tensioning alignment position before engagement.

The eye sling hook’s forged safety latch seats firmly into the tip of the hook for increased protection against lateral loadings. These fishing hooks comply with EN 1677-2/3, and are manufactured in Europe using European steel with a full operating manual, CE-marking and BG-approval.
